Well, now that introductions are out of the way, I’m going to tell you why I drew it. I drew this solely for Ayato’s birthday. As you can see from the date above, his birthday is on the 26th of March. I started drawing this around ten days before his birthday. But um… I may have finished the drawing two or three days late because I’m terrible with deadlines, hehe. 

At the time, I just drew him doing nothing (well, if you count being elegant as doing something…). I drew him surrounded by leaves flowing with the wind. The way I drew the hair and clothes are a bit different than how I usually draw it, but I like the way it turned out. I may have gotten carried away while drawing his face. I drew his face with harder features? Well as you can see from the picture beside this text, you can see that his face is way softer. I was also too lazy to draw the background, so I just used a picture from Honkai: Star rail, another game from MiHoyo like Genshin.

I think I did a pretty good job with the contrasting blue and orange tones. I also like the way I played around with hard lighting and shadows. It really makes the whole piece pop.

I like him because of his character, well primarily his intelligence. All my favorite characters tend to be the smart ones. Ayato is definitely at the top of that list, so you’ll probably see me draw him a lot more in the future, hehe.
